Broncos-Chiefs shifted to prime time
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- In a testament to the AFC West race, the Nov. 17 game between the 7-1 Denver Broncos and 8-0 Kansas City Chiefs has been flexed into prime time by NBC.
The game, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, will start at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game originally was slated for 4:25 p.m.
"We had originally protected the Kansas City-Denver game for Week 11," CBS Sports said in a statement. "After discussions with the NFL we made a one-time accommodation so that the game can be seen by a national audience, which we could not provide during our regionalized singleheader weekend."
The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers were the original prime-time matchup Nov. 17. That game will begin at 4:25 p.m. instead.
The Broncos and Chiefs will play again two weeks after their first meeting, Dec. 1 in Kansas City.
Denver, which has a bye this week, will face the San Diego Chargers on Nov. 10, while the Kansas City will have its bye that week.
Kansas City, the NFL's lone remaining unbeaten team in Andy Reid's first season as coach, plays the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
