ONE year after tying the knot, James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley are expecting their first child.
The pair, who made an appearance at last night’s Emeralds and Ivy ball in Sydney were coy about the impending pregnancy, however confirmed the happy news to The Sunday Telegraph.
When asked whether he and legal consultant Wellesley, 32, were expecting, 41-year-old Blunt said: “I try not to talk about it much on the red carpet.”
The You’re Beautiful singer, who is in the country as a celebrity judge on The X- Factor, has previously spoken about his desire to have children.
“Having children seems like an amazing thing to do,” he previously said.
“A lot of my friends and family have done it.
“It would be a shame not to experience that.”

The posh pop star and his wife Wellesley, who is the granddaughter of the Duke of Wellington, tied the knot surrounded by friends and family at a small chapel in Campanet, Mallorca, in September 2014.
The pair became engaged in December 2013 after dating for a year.
Blunt previously dated model Petra Nemcova.
