Kigali — FORMER Amavubi skipper Olivier Karekezi has been linked with a move to Swedish's premier league club IFK Goteborg. Reports indicate that the midfielder cum striker is set to be offered a three-year contract at the end of this season.

Karekezi joined second division club Osters early this year on a two year contract but after a productive spell, he could be on his way out.

"After this season, I will hold talks with Goteborg and I hope we shall reach a genuine conclusion," the 27-year-old said.

Last month, the striker had a string of good performances. He scored in Osters' 2-1 win over Trollhattan to give the club a lifeline of avoiding the drop.

However, Osters' survival still depends on how well they play against Jonkopings Sodra, Sirius and Qviding in the relegation play-offs.

In 2006, Karekezi, who has still failed to force his way back into Amavubi's squad, scored 11 goals for Helsingborg to finish as the side's top scorer. In January 2008, he moved to Ham-Kam but failed to establish himself in the starting eleven.
